21 Jul

WASHINGTON—Improved and secure public-private information sharing is needed to deal with the growing number of cyber attacks on government networks, says a report issued Thursday by a Washington think tank.

From October 2011 through February 2012, more than 50,000 cyber attacks on private and government networks were reported to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, of which 86 took place on critical infrastructure networks, according to “Cyber Security Task Force: Public-Private Information Sharing.”

The report was issued by the Bipartisan Policy Center.  Copies of the report are available here.
